The Sacred Heart School Endowment provides lasting financial support for our students and school. This page answers common questions about how the fund works, how gifts are used, and how you can make a lasting impact on Catholic education at Sacred Heart.
What is the Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund?
The Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund is a permanent fund that supports the long-term financial health of the school. Gifts to the endowment are invested, and only the earnings are used each year to provide tuition assistance, strengthen academic programs, and support faculty and faith formation.
Because the principal remains intact, the endowment creates a lasting legacy—ensuring Sacred Heart Cathedral School remains strong, affordable, and rooted in Catholic values for generations to come.
What is The Learning Tree?
The Learning Tree is a donor recognition display in the shape of a tree, featuring engraved leaves, apples, and stones that represent various levels of giving. It honors those who have generously supported the Sacred Heart Cathedral School Endowment Fund, helping to ensure the long-term financial stability of our school.
What will happen to The Learning Tree when the school moves?
As you may know, the school building will be moving to a new home - connected to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on North 14th Avenue. The Learning Tree will be carefully relocated and permanently displayed in the new school building. As a tribute to all who have given to the Endowment Fund, it will continue to inspire and celebrate the generosity of our community for generations to come.
Is support needed to move The Learning Tree?
Yes. While the tree itself will remain a vital symbol of endowment support, we are seeking dedicated gifts to help with its careful transfer and installation in the new facility. A contribution toward this effort is a meaningful way to preserve the legacy of our donors and the future of our school.
What are the giving levels for The Learning Tree?
The Learning Tree honors those who contribute to the Sacred Heart Endowment Fund, with donor names engraved at the following levels:
Leaves – Gifts of $500–$5,000
Representing the vitality and growth of our school community.
Apples – Gifts of $5,000–$10,000
Symbolizing the fruitful impact of Catholic education.
Stones – Gifts of $10,000 or more
Reflecting the strength and foundation our most generous donors provide for the future.
Each contribution strengthens our endowment and leaves a lasting legacy for generations to come.
